Covid 19 Vaccinations for senior 75 years and older

As of this Monday, February 1st, Seniors 75 years and older can receive a COVID 19 vaccination.  However, at this time vaccine availability is very limited as are locations where appointment can be made. But people should not panic.  More vaccines and more location will be made available over the next few weeks.  Also, the State is working on setting up a toll free number people can call to schedule an appointment, instead of using a computer. The telephone option will also be available within a few weeks.

So, if you can wait just a few more weeks, it will be much easier to schedule an appointment closer to home and more vaccine will be available.  Meanwhile, continue to keep yourself safe:  wear a mask when you leave your home, stay six feet away from others who don’t live with you, when running your errands keep interactions short- 15 minutes or less, and wash your hands often.

If you must schedule an appointment on line, the address is

www.mass.gov/covid-19-vaccine   There is also a link on the town website with instructions.  If you need help with the computer, please turn to a family member or friend first. But if you need help and don’t have others you can turn to, please call Maire at the senior center at 967-9645 between 12-4 pm during work week. If you cannot drive yourself, or have family or friends who can take you to your appointment, you can call the Quaboag Connector for help at  413 – 544- 3401. Transportation assistance is limited at this time due to Covid restriction and the clinics being out of Town.  More transportation services will become available when clinics are closer and in town.
The Health Director has created a video for further assistance.  It is available here or on Ware Community TV.

Vaccines are coming.  Help is coming. Just not as fast as we would all like.

Thank you
