The Town of Ware has a Sign Zoning By-law, which was voted on at the Annual Town Meeting of May 10, 2004.
All signage in the Town of Ware, must be permitted through the Building Department.
Failure to comply to zoning by-laws can result in fines of $300 per offense per day that violation continues. (Article 2, Section 2.1)
If you plan to, or have installed any type of sign within the last five years that is not permitted, please review the sign zoning by-law and apply accordingly.
When applying for a sign permit, please remember to enclose a diagram of the sign, with all wording and dimensions. It is also required to state how the sign will be secured to the property for pedestrian and vehicle safety reasons and who installed the sign, together with the Affidavit of Worker’s Compensation form, which is required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The Town of Ware Sign Zoning By-Law is available in the Building Department during normal work hours and on the town website:
FEES
Signs – under 100 square feet $30.00 each
Signs – over 100 square feet $60.00 each
