A Town Clerk is the public recorder for all municipal business. Actions of Annual and Special Town Meetings as well as all elections held in the community are recorded by the Town Clerk. The town seal is in the custody of the Town Clerk and preservation of all vital records (birth, marriages and deaths) is done by the clerk. In most communities a town clerk serves as “the place to call for information”. Municipal meeting notices, special permits and zoning board variances are filed with the Town Clerk.
VITAL RECORDS
Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates are available from this office. Certified copies of the documents filed in this office are available for $8.00 per copy. Details such as the name of the individual and date of the birth, death or marriage are necessary in order to provide you with a record of the event.
Certain records may be "restricted". Restricted records have a limited access to the following individuals only - "those listed on the record". Only with a valid, not "expired", driver's license or state ID will a record be issued. Individuals having custody of the child through a court order must produce the court order with court seal (no photocopies) to be left on file in the clerks office. No attorney privilege letter of request to secure the record will be accepted; without a court order, which will remain on file in the Town Clerk's Office.

A self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included with the request.
VOTER REGISTRATION
Daily in person, or by mail. Mail-in registration forms available at the Town Clerk’s Office or U.S. Post Office.
Voter registration deadlines are as follows: An individual, qualifed to register to vote, must register to vote and/or change their party affiliation 20 DAYS PRIOR to any state or local election, or the Annual Town Meeting, 10 DAYS PRIOR to a Special Town Meeting.
The last date to register to vote for the March 6th Presidential Primary is February 15th from 9 AM to 8 PM.
Party enrollment changes, address changes and voter registration must be completed or postmarked on voter registration cards as of this date.
The last date to register to vote for the Annual Town Election (April 9th) is March 20th from 9 AM to 8 PM
