A message from the Ware Board of Health Office
With the flu season approaching there are always questions about if the flu vaccine will be available, and if it is when and where. This year flu vaccines are available but with a change. Due to cuts in the budget the Board of Health’s supply of flu vaccine has been cut back.
In order to still provide protection against influenza the Board of Health is partnering with Walgreens Pharmacy so that everyone can receive a vaccine. A clinic date has been set for Tuesday October 25th from 9-11 AM at the Ware Senior Center. Just like in years past, flu vaccine will be provided at no cost, but Medicare cards need to be presented at time of vaccination.
If you are not yet on Medicare, or are an adult without health insurance, or your plan does not cover vaccinations, you will still be able to get your flu shot at no cost from the Board of Health Nurse Abby Melendy who will also be at the clinic on Tuesday, October 25th from 9-11AM at the Ware Senior Center.
